Tim Johnson

President

Tim started Stearns Johnson in 2003, after leading the GolinHarris’ San Francisco office and Worldwide Technology Practice for seven years. He left GolinHarris to go back to his roots – building great PR programs for his clients.  He has served more than 200 clients in his nearly 30 years of experience, ranging from start ups to Fortune 500 companies including Hewlett Packard, Visa and Amazon.com, with a particular focus on B2B and B2C technology.Before GolinHarris, Tim was senior vice president at Parallax Technology Group, an integrated marketing subsidiary of Ruder-Finn.  Prior, he was communications and investor relations manager at Illinois Tool Works, a Fortune 500 developer of components and systems, and an account executive at Rubenstein, Wolfson & Company, a New York based financial relations firm.  Tim began his career as communications associate at Keep America Beautiful, Inc. a national conservation organization immortalized in the famous “Crying Indian” public service ads produced in the 1970s.

Tim earned a BA in Political Science from St. Lawrence University and an MBA with Distinction from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
